The Save the Tigris Foundation has an official ANBI status in the Netherlands. This status is awarded by the Dutch tax authority to underline an organization’s non-profit status and is obtained following adherence to their strict code of conduct and good organizational requirements.
How to donate
To make a donation, follow the form below. We accept creditcard, bank transfer, Paypal. If you are based in the Netherlands, you can donate via IDEAL by choosing the option ‘bank transfer’.
How are donations used?
As our board members and Steering Committee are volunteers and do not receive any salary from Save the Tigris, all donations are spent on our ongoing work. This includes:
- Supporting local movements, civil societies and activists in their work on the ground in Iraq and the region in activities such as environmental festivals, clean-ups, videos.
- Conducting original research and their publication, translated into local languages, printed and disseminated.
- Vital networking between civil society of the Mesopotamian region.
- Organization of activities, trainings workshops on environmental campaigning, climate adaptation, water harvesting and other topics for activists and communities in Mesopotamia.
- International advocacy campaigns to promote protection of water resources, biodiversity and heritage in the region.
Donations are tax deductible!
Ordinary donations
If you do not give more than one donation to Save the Tigris, you speak of an ordinary donation. Gifts are deductible items, however, when doing ordinary donations you should take into account a threshold amount and a maximum deductible amount. For ordinary donations, 1% of your threshold income is the threshold amount, with a minimum of €60. What you have donated more, you may deduct from your income. There is also a maximum, which is 10% of your threshold income.
Periodic donation
If you give an annual donation to Save the Tigris, you speak of a periodic donation. There is no threshold amount and no maximum deductible amount for periodic donations.
